Freedom/Graduation from 1.1 in the forum Beginner Group 3 years, 6 months agoYahoo! I completed 1.1.
I decided to remove my fingering assist from the finger board. Freedom. I did not realize how much I was looking at that to find my notes. Now I will be forced to do it by ear. -

Left had tremors, possibly right hand tremors beginning. It’s really impacting my fiddle playing!!! Anyone out there with Parkinson’s or other tremors that can give some insight/assistance? Thanks!!

Hi Christie, your circumstance is motivating. It’s great to see you working through these challenges and navigating ways that work for you to play. It was interesting to…

Thank you very much Joanne! I think Kirstie said at that time it was the only tune her fiddle could play. Heartbreaking isn’t a strong enough word. Kevin

Hey Marg, thank you so much! I love this tune and I’m not much at playing fast songs so I was really interested after Tom introduced us to it. I love Jason’s comments and they help tremendously. Still lots of work to be done….

Thanks Marg! Now, after practicing what Jocelyn taught me for a few weeks, I cringe when I watch that video and see how stiff my bowing is!! I think I have improved some since then.

What a beautiful tone and feel you have in your playing Kevin. This tune has me intrigued now, I’m going to look it up. Jason’s comments are helpful to all of us so thanks for letting us in on the feedback.

Nice one Deb, you must have a good ear to work that out. Great double stops!

Wow, looks like some pretty complicated techniques there Owen, great work. It’s inspiring to see fiddleheds going beyond single line melodies. Makes me realise I should step out of my own comfort zone, 🙂

Really enjoyed your video of Old Joe Clarke Keith, and very impressed with the fast tempo! Looked like you had fun playing along with the backing track too. Jocelyn’s feedback was so interesting to watch, and we all get to learn from her focus on bowing just like a master-class. Thanks for posting. 😀

OUCH! Nerve pain in finger tip in the forum Beginner Group 3 years, 6 months agoThe other day while playing I got a sharp shooting pain coming from the tip of my left hand index finger. It has been two days since then. The pain is getting less and I have not played since then. My guess is that I push too hard on the strings. Has anyone else had this?
