I never did get back to the Old Grey Cat or Soldier’s Joy. These are on my agenda for today.

I think it sounds very good. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve not shared a tune yet but I’m working on it, trying to decide which tune. I have a hard time with jigs and reels but Soldier’s Joy is becoming more and more comfortable. That might be the one when I’m able to do it from memory.

I’m about halfway through level 1.9. However I might find myself returning to a previous level if I get stuck anywhere.

Now I’m working on level 1.9. Along the way I’ve learned some things I didn’t know – quite a few actually. After practicing tunes I wasn’t too sure about at first I discovered some were growing on me, especially Soldier’s Joy. I seem to keep returning to that one every day, not sure why. Today I think I’ll get back to the Old Grey Cat. Those two should be good for today.
While I really love Irish music and they were the reason I took up fiddle in the first place, I realistically don’t expect to ever be able to play most jigs and reels. My brain can’t move fast enough to coordinate my two hands is what I’ve discovered. For some reason I find hornpipes easier and more fun to practice.

My bowing is relatively straight but it keeps sliding towards the bridge. Also, I can’t seem to keep a light touch with the fingering of my right hand.

I think this is a great tune and I’m looking forward to the lesson.

After that great lesson this is fast becoming one of my favourites

Greetings. That was lovely. Thank you for sharing. I’m new here, working on 1.4. I’ve not yet come across that particular tune in a fiddled lesson. Of course I’m familiar with it because it’s a favourite at a yearly music/camping get together I attend in Nova Scotia, Canada. I’m from New Brunswick by the way.
