Using recording as a music journal

Simply record things, add a title/date, then listen back next time you practice.

How to practice with the Call-and-response Tracks

These ear-training tracks are fun but sometimes very challenging. I strongly suggest using the hints I provide for each exercise. Also, do each one multiple times.

Practice steps

  1. Play and then sing the hint notes with a drone before beginning.
  2. Listen to what I play.
  3. Play it back.
  4. Repeat the exercise until you can easily play back what you hear.

Check out the Call-and-response exercises in each module or in Call-and-response Central.

Sheet music apps

Forscore

A few students recommended this. You can record audio in the app.

Musescore

I use the paid version of this for its library of sheet music. It allows you to hear the sheet music as well as edit. FiddleHed Jocelyn uses this for notation.
