Have been amazed at my improvement using my pinky finger this week. It is getting stronger. Not there yet but it’s coming along nicely. Working on Hobart’s Transformation and Flop Eared Mule. Enjoyed transposing some older tunes into other keys. Great fun this fiddling stuff.

    So, I’m learning how to bow separate one, slur three using Bile me cabbage down. How do I decide when to separate one, slur three, when to slur four (this seems like the best choice to me) and to just separate bows. I am finding it difficult to change the pattern I have already learned. Thanks .

  Sounds like you are doing great. There are some pieces that I seem to move along better on with a bit of a swing to the tempo. I probably should put more thought to my bowing but I just sort of go with what feels comfortable. I’ve slowed some videos way down and scrutinized the bowing and they slur a lot. Lots of times when I try to bow fast it seems like my bow hand stutters or something. I’m mostly concerned with keeping it in the proper area for good tone.. I can get rather ‘misguided’. Many refresher sessions to reprogram my bowing. Sorry I didn’t reply to you sooner. I just found this area. I have taken a slight break to explore all the nooks and crannies Jason has built into this.
