Miss Monaghan’s Reel – basic version and variation

Here’s a short performance of an Irish tune called Miss Monaghan’s Reel. I play a very simple version and then play a version with some variation added.

For your listening pleasure, I’m giving away an mp3:

I also made step-by-step lessons on how to play each version. These tunes are taught through looping play-along tracks, color-coded tabs, sheet music and videos. The Irish Fiddle Variation course:

If you are interested in learning more about the course, I am giving away three “appetizer lessons” on how the process of adding variation works, and how to practice it. This process carries over to adding variation to any tune or fiddle style. It prepares you to improvise or compose your own melodies.
