I figured out the problem. Someone told me you have to use more pressure/weight on the bow for the thicker strings. The thicker the string, the more weight to put onto it. Putting more pressure on G and D fixed the issue.

I know when sheet music shows the line connecting the two notes, it is indicating a slur. Is that the only time we should use them, or should we use them whenever we can or whenever it makes sense? Are there examples of where they should and should not be used?

Joey B replied to the topic Rosin in the forum All about fiddles 4 months, 3 weeks ago

I keep thinking I need to find the right rosin. Whenever I feel the bow skating across the strings, it seems like the bow is just not gripping well enough. Maybe it is the strings. I would love to try several more rosins to see what difference they make.

Joey B replied to the topic zoom session for beginners in the forum Intermediate Fiddlers: Modules 2.1 – 2.9 4 months, 3 weeks ago

It is difficult to play together over Zoom. The lag makes it hard to match timing. The only way I know to do it is to mute everyone except one person and then you can play along. Then switch and mute everyone but the next guy.
