I made a quick video on my phone to share the story of how I became a fiddle teacher. Just in case you don’t have time to watch video, I’ll summarize the main points below.


The short version

Learning music did not come naturally to me. There were no other musicians in my family. Regular practice was a huge struggle. It took awhile before I understood that classical music was not what I wanted to do. After five years of trudging through concertos I found a way to do music I liked (fiddling and playing in bands). That’s when music became a truly joyful experience.
