    Hey Beginner Fiddlehed folks,

We host a zoom group on the 3rd Thursday each month at 12PM PT. It’s interactive and we focus on anything folks want.

Here’s a review of topics covered in our last session on Oct 19th:
    Shared practise
    G string difficulty – fingerboard hand/arm
Violin position on body – Chin and shoulder rest also Here are examples of different styles of chin rests, including more centre mounted ones
String changing – good to watch some videos on folks teaching this, also get shown in person can help
    Practise consistency
Rhythm work, start of shooting creek – smaller amounts of bow can be useful when string crossing lots and playing faster – experiment with this, using more bow, and less bow
Zoom audio setup – Here’s a Fiddlehed page with further discussion on this
G string work – freedom of movement on angling fingerboard hand when changing strings – lifting fingers to reach higher finger placements can help – relaxing hand grip – angle of bow on string between strings – playing 2 strings
    Practise motivation/desicion discussion
Learning music by ear and visually – clapping/singing while following sheet music
Fingerprinting – remembering how songs start – Here’s a Fiddlehed resource for this
    Identifying Key of song
    Took turns playing Freres Jacques
