Two weeks. One skill. See what happens.
Do you ever feel stuck with the fiddle? Like you’re putting in the time but not really going anywhere?
It usually starts the same way. You’re excited. You’re practicing every day. Then progress slows, motivation dips, and suddenly the fiddle is just sitting there judging you.
This is called the Intermediate Blues. It happens to beginners, advanced players, and everyone in between.
There’s something you can do about it…

Pick one essential skill. Put it back on the workbench.
Maybe it’s tuning. Maybe it’s tone, timing, memorization, note reading, or double stops. You know which one you’ve been quietly skating past.

Discover the hardest part of that skill for you. Then try to practice the hardest part of the hardest part. Eventually there are no hard parts…
Here’s how the challenge works:
On Day 1, film a short video of yourself working on that skill. Raw and unpolished is perfect. Then practice it for at least 10 minutes a day for two weeks. On Day 14, film another video.
Use this simple practice framework:
- Focus — Stay with one skill for the full two weeks. You’re still free to practice other things.
- Feedback — Make 30-second recordings and listen back. Recordings help you catch things you miss in the moment.
- Adjust — Make one small change, then try again.

That’s it.
Here’s what some folks are tackling:

At the end of two weeks, sit with two questions:
- What shifted, even a little?
- And what would you do differently next time?
This isn’t a competition. You’re not comparing yourself to anyone else. You’re comparing yourself to the person in that first video.
The Next Reboot Challenge starts April 6th.
If you want to do this with a community of fiddlers behind you — people posting Day 1 videos, checking in, sharing what’s working — join us on Play Every Day.
