I have April 17 of this year in my journal as the first day I signed up for Fiddlehed lessons. One of the deciding factors for me to sign up was a phrase that said something like “Where will you be in a year”. Now its six months later and I’m so proud of myself for sticking with learning an instrument! These courses are perfect for the way I learn. I really struggle with trying to read music, thats my very weakest skill. My strongest skill is being able to get a song down in my head after two or three “listenings”, a skill that has been made stronger by the call and response exercises. I’m super happy I found Fiddlehed and I can’t wait to see what I can do/play at the end of the next six months!! My ultimate goal is to be able to play some of the songs a relative of our family wrote. Look him up on YouTube- John Ashby and the Freestate Ramblers. Ashbys Breakdown is one of my favorites!
