I used Band-In-A-Box to create the backing track. Then, while listening to the backing track through ear buds, I recorded the melody. I used RealBand for that, but the free Audacity would work just as well. Reverb on the melody and mixing the two tracks was done with RealBand (or Audacity, if you like).

Excellent! This is a challenging tune. I still stumble on the 3rd quarter of the B part when I play it fast…

Thank you. Its one of my favorites, which is funny because I procrastinated playing it for months. The three fast notes involve a low 2nd finger which I was super afraid to try.
