My current goal is to play fiddle in church. I can read music, I learned how in highschool. I have only been playing fiddle for 2 months but I enjoy playing and have been practicing for a few hours throughout the day. In our church we have several musicians including a banjo player. The hymns we sing are an older style. I’m still developing my ear but since I read music I find playing the notes easier than droning or double stopping. So my question is, what is appropriate while playing in a large choir with 3 guitars, banjo, piano and bass.
