Just in case there are other slow learners like myself. I just realized what I was confusing long bow in the Georgia Shuffle and other applications as meaning a long note. It was finely explained to me, that it’s not a long note, it’s just an accented one with the same note length as the short bow-notes. I kept looking for pieces with a long note and three short ones and trying to figure how to adapt the bowing to a tune. I figure that I am at least of average intelligence and if someone was suffering this confusion maybe this could help. I sort of “knew” this from other tunes but don’t generalize well.
