ParticipantHello, someone mentioned downloading the practice songs so they could play them slower without the tempo speeding up. Does anyone know how to do that. I need to play the songs slowly and am constantly hitting the back arrow to start over. It would be nice to keep going and increase the tempo when I’m ready for it. Thanks.

ModeratorYou can download the songs by right clicking on the red arrow next to the song, choosing “save target as”, and putting it on your desk top or file of your choice; then you can play the song on your computer without being online. As far as slowing the song down, you can use one of the slow-down apps available on the internet such as Audacity (free) or The Amazing Slow Downer (free trial, but does not have all the features).

ModeratorLuckily some of the lessons have the handy dandy versions at different metronome speeds. I like those a lot. Might even make list of all the ones that have it to make a slow/fast practice routine.

for example, here’s a page with Soldier’s Joy at varied speeds in the play along tracks part of the lesson:

ParticipantHi Blucy, I did notice that one one of the songs. I forget which one. I’ll have to start looking for that, as I’m still not finding a download option on the songs. I wonder if something has changed and the songs aren’t downloadable anymore. I’m not the best a technology, but have been trying to do this for a couple of days. Time to forget downloading, and just fiddle!

ParticipantThink I figured out the problem, I phone/ iPad doesn’t have those red arrows. Lol. On a better note, I have really been enjoying learning Scotland the Brave in 1.6. Thanks Jason!

ModeratorYes Ginny, I was just reading through and was about to mention that different devices that are smaller don’t always have the download arrow. I also like Scotland the Brave. Swallow Tail Jig also has the varied speed play along tracks that last the same speed for the whole track.
