D major scale with variations

scales are a handy way to train your left hand fingers where to go. the first scale I teach is D major:

D0-1-2-3-A0-1-2-3

once you have it, try to go up and down with pausing.

some variations that will making practicing scales more fun! plus, these will help you develop a feel for fiddle music. we'll be doing this on the D major scale.

-doublets
-tucka (short short short short long long)
-hoedown (long short short)
-triplets
-swing doublets
-swing singles
